Milkshake 2015

AIR & Paradiso proudly present the line up for Milkshake Festival 2015. Recently crowned with a Golden Gnome for ‘Beste Feestival 2015’ (Best Festival) and nowadays known as a hysterical phenomenon in Dutch Festival land. Milkshake Festival strives to bring a diverse range of (inter)national artists to the festival ground every year. On the 19^th of July the Westerpark will be magically turned into a fabulous spectacle where everybody can love without stereotypical thinking. This year Milkshake Festival welcomes New York Diva Amanda Lepore, Big Freedia, Jodie Harsh, Cakes da Killa, Lady Miss Kier, Dr. Lektroluv and Hercules and Love Affair who will bring their own share of craziness to the day.

And don’t forget the rest of the line up and the side-programmes who will bring us joy and love and make this fourth edition of Milkshake Festival a day for the history books.

What happens when the unique Free Love and Tolerance Policy of two of the biggest clubs in Amsterdam is thrown in a blender together with a dose of liberalism, art, culture, entertainment and creativity?
Milkshake festival shows that entertainment, taste in music, choice of clothing and status has nothing to do with sexuality. Life is just a party thanks to the great diversity of skin colors, religions, sexual preferences and male and female forms. Milkshake wants to celebrate the city’s initiatives and is an impetus to bring courtesy and friendly manners back into society. Thick, thin, small, large, gay, straight, trans, black or white: people are the salt of the earth and this is what we celebrate! Milkshake is an interesting melting pot of several liberal club nights, which affiliate with Paradiso and AIR.

Inmiddels een welbekend en hysterisch fenomeen en onlangs nog bekroond met de Gouden Kabouter Award voor het beste festival: Milkshake! Op zaterdag 19 juli wordt het Westerpark-terrein opnieuw omgetoverd tot een spektakel waar iedereen kan liefhebben zonder hokjes en grenzen. Vandaag presenteren AIR en Paradiso de line-up, met optredens van onder andere New York Diva Amanda Lepore, Big Freedia, Jodie Harsh, Cakes da Killa, Lady Miss Kier, Dr. Lektroluv en Hercules and Love Affair. Met daarbovenop een uitgebreide randprogrammering belooft het een magische dag te worden!

Milkshake is een dancefestival dat is ontwikkeld vanuit de gedachtegang ‘niets moet, alles mag’ en laat zien dat entertainment, muziekkeuze, kledingkeuze en status niets met seksuele geaardheid te maken hoeven hebben. Tijdens Milkshake heerst er een sfeer die vrij is van de door de maatschappij gecreëerde hokjesgeest. Het leven is juist een feest dankzij de grote diversiteit van huidskleuren, seksuele voorkeuren en een scala aan verschijningsvormen. De zin ‘For All Who Love’ is allesomvattend voor Milkshake’s doelstelling en voor de sfeer die iedereen de afgelopen jaren tijdens het festival heeft mogen voelen. Milkshake viert de stad en haar initiatieven en zet zich in voor iets meer hoffelijkheid en liefde voor elkaar. Dik, dun, klein, groot, homo, hetero, trans, travo, pikzwart of lelieblank: mensen zijn het zout der aarde en dit gaan we vieren! Het programma van Milkshake festival is een samensmelting van liberale clubnachten die een link hebben met Paradiso en AIR.
