With the ignition of the light artwork The Gatekeepers – created by Irma de Vries – the Mayor of Amsterdam Eberhard van der Laan officially opened the Amsterdam Light Festival. As much as fourty art works will enrich the inner city of Amsterdam this winter. The boat route Water Colors takes visitors on a journey around the canals and the river Amstel. From Thursday December 11th there will also be a walking route named Illuminade. All art works are freely accessible.

Water Colors (boat route): from Thursday 27th of November until Sunday 18th of January

Illuminade (walking route): from Thursday 11th of December until Sunday 4th of January

About Amsterdam Light Festival
