Francisco van Benthum

Since 2003, Francisco van Benthum has been the leading force behind the luxury men’s fashion label FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM, internationally recognized and appreciated for bringing a unique product to the market.

Van Benthum began his career in the late 1990s as soon as he had graduated from the prestigious fashion department at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem. He immediately started searching for his own vision as a menswear designer by exploring and stretching the boundaries of traditional men’s fashion and playing with its codes and restrictions.

And that has become his trademark: adding a contemporary twist to the classical form by reinterpreting and recomposing the outline and elements of the traditional menswear silhouette. FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM is available through selected stores worldwide and at his concept store in Amsterdam.

MARLIN / ss 2014 The theme for collection spring/summer 2014 is scuba diving and the underwater world. The technical part of diving: the wet suit and it’s low –and hi-tech detailing forms the inspiration for sport inspired pieces where the plastic zipper, taped seams and technical materials are apparent. The underwater world is visualised through an all-over print, based on shapes of sea-coral and reefs.
