Dutch Design Week With Diffus

On Saturday 20 October D Unknown had the honors of meeting with Hanne Louise Johannesen and Michel Guglielmi while visiting the Dutch Design Week 2012 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Hanna was very excited about their work, which made us even more excited to listen.

Hanne Louise Johannesen has a Master degree in Art History and is a freelance writer. She teaches at the IT-University in Copenhagen. She has previously been an assistant professor in Visual Culture at the Department of Cultural Studies and the Arts at University of Copenhagen. Her current research is in the field of New Media and space body relations connected to theories on the cyborg, identity, space and architecture. She is the co-founder of Diffus.
Michel Guglielmi is an architect working with tangible media, interaction design and architecture. From 200 to 2010, he was teaching at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art, schools of Architecture and Design in Copenhagen and he was previously an assistant professor in Medialogy at Alborg University, Institute Media Technology and Engineering. There, he worked within the area of digital aesthetics and art. He is a co-founder of Diffus.
The main focus of their projects is to combine digital technology and different kinds of materiality. They work with sensor technology, wireless communication and interactive projections in combination with body architecture, design objects and textiles. Through these media they try to investigate possibilities for tangible surfaces.
