MILKSHAKE FESTIVAL, WESTERPARK AMSTERDAM

After two sold out editions AIR and Paradiso present you once again with pride the third edition of Milkshake Festival, awarded with Golden Gnome in category ‘Best One Day Festival 2012’. Sunday the 20^th of July 2014 Milkshake will take place in Westerpark in Amsterdam. The early bird tickets were sold out twice, once in 8 minutes and the second time in 30 seconds.

What happens if the unique Free Love and Tolerance Policy of two of the biggest clubs in Amsterdam be thrown in a blender together with a dose of liberalism, art, culture, entertainment and creativity? Milkshake festival shows that entertainment, music choice, choice of clothing and status has nothing to do with sexuality. Life is just a party thanks to the great diversity of skin colors, religions, sexual preferences and male and female forms. Milkshake wants to celebrate the city’s initiatives and is an impetus to bring the courtesy and friendly manners back into society. Thick, thin, small, large, gay, straight, trans, black or white: people are the salt of the earth and this is what we celebrate! Milkshake is an interesting melting pot of several liberal club nights which affiliate with Paradiso and AIR:

Down The Drain by Erwin OlafPhotographer Erwin Olaf is back during Milkshake 2014 with his tableau vivant. For his stage you need to get your minds set, because we’re going down the drain! His events are known for extrovert experiences and freedom. Absurdities and individual appearances set the tone at the festival.

Can You Feel iT by Diva MayDay & AIR Once again Diva Mayday brings her hysterical and successful party Can You Feel iT to Milkshake. Every three months the sold out club night recreates the vibe of legendary club iT in AIR. Resident-dj’s such as Jean and Brian S, vocals by Miss Bunt and the perfect host Diva Mayday will bring a party where celebrities can feel ‘normal’ and where ‘normal people’ can feel like celebrities.

Supertoys by AIR Especially for the colorful and liberal fans with a playful intellect, Supertoys brings an amazing stage on Milkshake. You can leave your ‘bad habits’, issues and arrogance at the door and enjoy a stage that until now has offered nights with kiddy rides, cult cartoons, beats and sounds ranging from pop to electro house. We’re supposed to have fun!

De Natte Poezenplek ‘When Hip Hop meets openminded intellect’. Last year’s ‘Vieze Poezendek’ will be restyled into ‘De Natte Poezenplek’. Vieze Poezendek is a new openminded hiphop / R&B event founded on the first edition of Milkshake.

Superbimbo by Now&Wow Superbimbo is a night initiated by Ted Langenbach and Pietra Ligura as a parody on the bimbo culture. Influenced by over-cultivated Rai Uno T.V.’s sexy ladies in the pre-silicone era, Superbimbo has grown out of proportion into sold out events. ‘As well as house music and pop music are taken too seriously; that’s why we feel that irony and humor is a must in the night life’. In times of internet porn and webcam prostitution Superbimbo puts the party scene retro sexually back in it’s place.

Paradiso Pop Queer Stage This year UltraSexi will collide with Paradiso Live Stage on Milkshake. Paradiso has grown from a ‘cosmic relaxation centre’ to a big pop stage, night club and cultural temple in one. A centre where liberal club nights are loved by many. U.L.T.R.A.S.E.X.I. is a Dutch cooperation and a production platform created in 2008, made by young creative multi-talent. Na twee uitverkochte edities presenteren AIR en Paradiso u wederom met gepaste trots de derde editie van Milkshake festival, bekroond met een Gouden Kabouter in de categorie ‘Beste Eendaags Festival 2012’ en in 2013 geopend door de Burgemeester van Amsterdam! Op zondag 20 juli 2014 vindt Milkshake plaats in het Westerpark te Amsterdam. De earlybird-tickets waren onlangs in 8 minuten en 30 seconden uitverkocht.

De zin ‘For All Who Love’ is allesomvattend voor Milkshake’s doelstelling en voor de sfeer die iedereen afgelopen jaren tijdens het festival heeft mogen voelen. Milkshake is een dancefestival dat is ontwikkeld vanuit de gedachtegang ‘niets moet, alles mag’ en laat zien dat entertainment, muziekkeuze, kledingkeuze en status niets met seksualiteit te maken heeft. Tijdens Milkshake heerst er een sfeer die vrij is van de door de maatschappij gecreëerde hokjesgeest. Het leven is juist een feest dankzij de grote diversiteit van huidskleuren, seksuele voorkeuren en een scala aan verschijningsvormen. Milkshake viert de stad en haar initiatieven en we zetten ons in voor iets meer hoffelijkheid en liefde voor elkaar. Dik, dun, klein, groot, homo, hetero, trans, travo, pikzwart of lelieblank: mensen zijn het zout der aarde en dit gaan we vieren! Topfotograaf Erwin Olaf is terug op Milkshake met zijn ‘tableau vivant’! Zijn feesten staan bekend om hun uitbundigheid en vrijheid. Absurditeit en individuele verschijningsvormen voeren de boventoon tijdens Milkshake… Let’s go down the drain!

PARADISO POP QUEER STAGE
Dit jaar zal Ultrasexi samenspannen met Paradiso Live Stage tijdens Milkshake.

In de afgelopen veertig jaar is Paradiso uitgegroeid van ‘kosmisch ontspanningscentrum’ tot poppodium, nachtclub en cultuurtempel in één, waar liberale clubavonden een vaste plek hebben gekregen.
UltraSexi is een Nederlandse coöperatie en een productieplatform van en voor jong creatief multi-talent, ontstaan in 2008, UltraSexi is de organisatie achter de feesten M.U.L.T.I.S.E.X.I., F*cking Pop Queers, FPQXL en Ultradisko

Speciaal voor onze kleurrijke en liberale aanhang met speels intellect komt Supertoys na hysterische nachten met ballenbakken, kiddyrides, kult-cartoons, beats en geluiden van pop tot elektrohouse in AIR, wederom met een eigen verbluffende stage op Milkshake. Vieze Poezendek is een nieuwe openminded hiphop / R&B club nacht in AIR ontstaan tijdens het eerste Milkshake festival.

SUPERBIMBO BY NOW&WOW
Superbimbo is een nacht die door Ted Langenbach en Pietra Ligura is geïnitieerd als parodie op de bimbo cultuur. Met invloeden van overgecultiveerde Rai Uno televisie-animeermeisjes in het pre-siliconentijdperk zijn de Superbimbo nachten uitgegroeid tot drukbezochte cultnachten. “Zowel house als pop worden vaak veel te serieus genomen; juist daarom vinden wij dat humor en ironie een must zijn in het nachtleven.”-Ted Langenbach. Superbimbo is terug van weggeweest! In tijden van internetporno en webcam-prostitutie zet Superbimbo de partyscene weer retro-seksueel op zijn plek.

CAN YOU FEEL IT BY DIVA MAYDAY & AIR
Ook dit jaar brengt Diva MayDay haar hysterische en succesvolle feest Can You Feel iT naar Milkshake. De altijd uitverkochte clubnacht brengt ieder kwartaal het gevoel van de legendarische club iT naar AIR, en zet met resident-dj’s als Jean en Brian S, vocals door Miss Bunty, en de perfect host Diva MayDay een party neer waar de sterren zich weer ‘gewoon’ voelen en de ‘gewone’ mensen zich ‘ster’ voelen.
